Social media has certainly played a great role in engaging young adults within the political arena. Today young people are using this medium as a way to address issues they are concerned about and joining discussions to give their view points. The first article showed how children involvement from an early age goes with them and they stay involved in political elections, campaign and issues. This also showed that young adults are socializing with peers within their same line of thought, just the same as older voters have done in the past. Social Media has influenced many people, but young adults are not aware of biased or false news. It does show, though, that young people are using social media for both political and civic activities.

I think it is very important that younger people are becoming more involved with social media in a way that makes them aware of what is going on socially and politically in their own countries. The fact that they are able to do so in an environment that allows them to talk to people all over the world is amazing. Hopefully this will help them be the types of adults who will be fully involved in their country and community.
ReplyDeleteSocial media is definitely helping the younger population become more involved with politics. I feel that this is a major goal of political broadcasters and politicians as a whole because it helps gain and maintain a larger following for the future. This is actually a big tool as far as getting not only young votes but also votes across the board. Adults are starting to gravitate toward social media as a way to stay informed and involved with politics. With this there has been a much larger push for ads in this forum because of the higher volume of users which can be reached. As the young voters grow older and maintain their use of social media, there will a complete reliance of the medium in coming years.
